The stalwart Ford EcoSport, and the current leader in the segment, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Nexon launched is priced for Rs. 5.85 lakh and has all new SUV sporting new engines with a stylish design and some of the first class features. The compact SUV is going to be available in four trim levels XM, XT and XZ+ and have got two engine options in 110bhp, 1.2 liters, turbo-petrol and a 110hp, 1.5-litre turbo-diesel. The Maruti Vitara Brezza has got an SUV silhouette that Indian buyers like while Maruti Suzuki could have been a bit more adventurous in styling with it. Interiors Comparison

Vitara Brezza is offering a command to view on the road with its SUV-esque seating position and also can offer a user-friendly experience. The cabin in the car can be jazzed up with different colors and can be able to trim, but it is still ergonomic with many of storage space with two gloveboxes.

Engines and Performance Comparison

The engine that is offered by Maruti Suzuki for Brezza is of 1.3 liters, Fiat-sourced diesel engine that can produce 90hp at 4,000rpm and 200Nm at 1.750rpm which is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The engine of the Brezza is the lightest among the three weighing 1.170-1.195Kg, but the road performance is just adequate. The Brezza is getting the Baleno RS’ 1.0-litre Booster jet turbo-petrol mill that can make up to 102hp and 150Nm of the torque that can stand in this segment.

Ford EcoSport, on the other hand, has got three engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol engine making 112hp and 140Nm, a 1.5-litre diesel motor that can produce 100hp and 205Nm with a 1-litre turbo petrol Ecoboost mill that puts out a 5-speed manual transmission while the 1.5-litre petrol gets the option of a six-speed automatic. It weighs about 100kg more than the Brezza but it should sport a similar power-to-weight ratio.

Ford’s EcoSport is offering a much wider selection of the variants, all thanks to the multiple engines on the offer with its price tag that starts at Rs. 7.1 lakh and can rise up to 10.71 lakh for the Platinum edition in diesel option. The Vitara Brezza is available in seven variants with the prices starting at 7.24 lakh and going up to Rs 9.91 lakh for the ZDi Plus dual-tone trim.
