Maruti Baleno

Maruti vs Tata: After a lot of and speculations, Tata Motors is finally into the space of SUVs. Built over the years, the Nexon is the fourth brand new product from the Tata Motors in less than two years of time.

Here in this article, we are going to make a comparison between Tata Nexon and Maruti Baleno since Baleno is one of the existing competitors. Apart from Baleno, Ford EcoSport, Ignis, WR-R are the other contenders with Neon in the market.

The urban SUV can be able to have five people comfortably,

The side profile has a rising beltline for the wheel arches and then a blacked-out pillar. The 16-inch tyres look a bit smaller, indicating that larger size tyres can be used on this premium hatchback. The rear does look stunning with the C-shaped tail lamps that look fabulous. The integrated rear spoiler looks sporty.

Nexon comes close to the TUV 300 in the area of boot space vehicles. It has the capacity of 350 liters and the Nexon leads the Brezza that has the smallest boot space and also the Ford EcoSport. But Tata Nexon is the shortest of all the SUVs that are given with the fact that it looks like a cross between a hatchback and an SUV.

Interiors

The manufacturers of both Baleno and Tata Nexon have the urban customer base and therefore they have turned their interiors to be as stylish and feature-loaded as possible. Starting from Bluetooth connectivity to Apple Car Play to multi-speaker surround sound system, all four vehicles are built keeping the customer in mind.

For Baleno, the steering wheel is the next-gen design from Maruti with a new instrument cluster with a TFT screen which shows the efficiency of the fuel and average fuel efficiency, distance to empty, current torque and power that is being used. The top-of-the-line variant gets Apple’s CarPlay system which is a good integration of the latest technology in a car. As per the claims of Maruti, Android Auto will also be added to the list soon.

Safety

Tata Motors is offering airbags in Nexon as standard across all the variants in the car and it is the first car they are doing to for a company. The Mahindra TUV 300 is the only model as of now that is not offering the airbag as a standard but it does it as an option. So, the final decision is left to the customer.

Engine options

Right now, at the moment, Nexon and EcoSport are the only two models that are offering both petrol and diesel options in engine.

The Nexon is powered by two new the engines – 1.2 litre petrol and 1.5 litre diesel. The diesel motor, a four-cylinder turbocharged unit, is claimed by the company as the most powerful in its class generating 110bhp of 3,750rpm at peak.

As far as performance is concerned, Baleno car is very good with the performance. The ride is more or less of the same. The suspension absorbs all the bumps with ease of making it a smooth ride. On the other hand, handling of the Baleno is more evolved than the Swift. The alacrity of the chassis is more superior to the other Maruti products thanks to the lighter weigh chassis.
