The South Korean Giant and India’s Second Largest Car manufacturer, Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled the second generation model of its most successful SUV at the ongoing 2020 Auto Expo. The New Generation Hyundai Creta will feature all-new looks along with a gazillion of features in the interior and bunch of powertrain options too.

The first-gen Creta was launched in India in 2015 and it was really appreciated by the Indian Car Buyers. The car also got a mid-life facelift in 2018 but has now started showing-off its age. And so the all-new Creta is here which made its official India debut at the Expo and was unveiled by Bollywood sensation Mr. Shahrukh Khan, who is also the brand ambassador of Hyundai India and a proud owner of first-gen Creta.

The 2020 Creta gets a completely new design, however, the styling is subjective and might get mixed opinions from the audience. It has grown in dimensions compared to its predecessor and gets an all-new Hyundai’s signature Cascading grille with new 17-inch diamond-cut alloys and all-wheel disc brakes. It also gets split headlamp and tail-lamp units giving it a more futuristic look. The car also features skid-plates both at the front as well as at the rear, roof-mounted spoiler, roof-rails, and body-cladding all-around to give it an SUV stance.

The interiors haven’t been revealed but it is expected that the new-gen Hyundai Creta will get a massive panoramic sunroof along with a huge 10.25 inch horizontally laid-out touchscreen infotainment system (unlike vertically laid-out unit as seen on the Chinese ix25) on the dashboard which will support features like Android Auto, Apple Car Play and Hyundai’s Blue Link connectivity. The dash will get a black and beige combination and it might get an air purifier too.

Coming to the powertrain options, the new-gen Creta will borrow its engines from Kia Seltos and it will get 1.5L Petrol and 1.5L Diesel engine options producing 115bhp/144Nm and 115bhp/250Nm respectively, both mated to a 6-speed manual and an automatic gearbox. Hyundai might also offer the 1.4L Turbo-petrol unit that churns out 140bhp on tap mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.

The Hyundai Creta has always been a preferred choice among buyers looking for a mid-size SUV with Great Value for Money proposition. The New Creta will be officially launched in March and is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 10-16 lakhs Ex-showroom. It will rival the likes of Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, MG Hector and Mahindra XUV 500.
