Mahindra has launched their new premium segment SUV Car for Indian Consumers. The new Mahindra Alturas G4 has been officially unveiled at a starting price of INR 26.95 Lakh. Fortunately, the company is offering two different models which include Alturas G4 2WD and Alturas G4 4WD. The Alturas G4 4WD’s price starts at INR 29.95 lakh.
Mahindra has been dominating the big car markets with their SUV cars. However, the new Mahindra Alturas is known as the biggest entry in the SUV segment. The company has high expectations from this premium range car.
If we talk about the previous cars, Mahindra has their Scorpio and SUV500 Cars in the market, and the new Mahindra Alturas has just entered into the big car segment by the company. The company is aiming to sell around 450 to 500 units of the car every month after its availability in the Indian market.
“The launch of the Alturas G4 is a significant moment in the automotive journey of Mahindra which will take the brand to the next level,” M&M Managing Director Pawan Goenka told reporters.
Mahindra has first showcased this car during this year’s Auto Expo 2018 which is now officially launched by the company. The car does look like Toyota’s Fortuner from the outside and the only major difference you would notice in this car is the front grille. Of course, the car features daylight running lamps which adds the more premium look to the car from the front.
The Mahindra Alturas G4 is powered by a 2.2 liter, four cylinders, BS-6 ready Diesel Engine. The engine generates power of 178 bhp at 4000 rpm. It can develop a peak torque of 420 Nm. There is a 7-speed automatic torque converter also present.
The front bumper is quite high which suffers big potholes smoothly. The bumper of the car to features a separate set of Day Light Running Lamps which you may not find out in any other premium cars.
Moving on to the other parts, the car features 18-Inch alloy wheels. The large roof rails look quite premium and broad to serve you the luxurious look. Wraparound LED lamps are placed at the backside of the car. It also features a roof-mounted spoiler which is integrated with brake lights. When you push the brake paddle, this LED light will turn on.
The dashboard inside the car is made from the high-grade leather material. The Sunroof is integrated with anti-pinch function. The interior has plenty of LED lights, unlike other SUV cars.
Talking about the entertainment side, the car feature 8-Inch Touchscreen infotainment system. It is integrated with Android Auto and Apple CarPay. There is a special 3D View camera and rear parking sensor also available to keep you safe while driving. The tailgate is equipped with smart power technology and it has rain sensors also available.
Moving on to the safety side, the car has a total 9 Airbags located at different places within the car. It also features ABS+ EBD, Electronic Stability Programme, BAS, ESS, ARP, HDC and HAS.
Unfortunately, there will be no Petrol variant of this premium range SUV available in the market. There’s no sign of its availability in the future as well. The company will soon come up with more information about the car’s availability and its booking dates.
